Christian CHIARCOS

Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main
Chair of Applied Computational Linguistics
Frankfurt am Main, Germany
I am an expert in computational linguistics / natural language processing (NLP) with special intest in computational semantics, Semantic Web technologies, and Digital Humanities.
In this context, I am working in applying this technology stack to different fields of Archeology. As an example, I have been working with Assyriologists to facilitate cuneiform processing. At CAA-2015, we're going to present something different, though: A pilot study on Semantic-Web-based Open Information Extraction/Machine Reading on excavation reports (and other types of grey literature from archeology).
Unfortunately, I cannot participate myself, but my colleagues from Archeology, Matthias Lang (Tübingen) and Philip Verhagen (VU Amsterdam) will give this talk. However, in case any questions or suggestions with respect to technological issues arise, please don't hesitate to write me an email.
